Rationale of the Programme

The population of Kenya has increased significantly over the past 50 years, children below 14 years comprising 43% of 47.5 million, with consequent increased need for trained paediatricians. In addition they provide leadership in promotive health playing a key role in the establishment and running preventive programs.
